Hello all
Just purchased a Sony HC90 camcorder that records in widescreen format. When I create an MPEG-2 file and play it on my PC with windows media player the aspect ratio is correct at 16:9 as measured with a ruler. Also the video looks correct. I have also compressed the video to .AVI format and the aspect ratio looks good as well.
The problem is when I burn the movie to DVD and play in my standalone dvd player or using my PC with PowerDVD the aspect ratio is now 4:3. When I check the properties of the DVD is states that it is a 4:3.
Obviously the software I'm using to convert and burn the DVD (Sonic myDVD) is changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 which makes for an ugly movie. Is there a better software package that I could use to burn my videos at different aspect ratio's. My software doesn't give me any options for aspect ratio. I also tried Ulead Video studio with the same poor results.
Thanks
