Motion Menu

I'm right now in the process of authoring my DVD (with TMPGEnc DVD-Author) and I'm attempting to make a motion menu. I had a special movie I made in Windows Movie Maker that I wanted to stick in the menu, but its not in a recognizable video format. Is there any way to make my movie project (.MSWMM) into an .avi? Any help would be appreciated.

Re-open the file in WMM, and save as DV-AVI.
Encode to mpeg-2, then import as menu.

Alternatively, I think tmpgenc plus will open the .wmv (aka .mswmm) file, and encode to mpg. You may need a plugin...
I don't ever deal with .wmv crap, so I'm only guessing at this.
