Combining AC-3 and AVI

Ok I have a couple of questions:

1. How do you combine two AC-3 files into one file?

2. How do you merge two AVI files into one with TMPGEnc Plus? I only see the option for batch encoding. That's not the same is it? I am trying to eliminate having more than one track on my dvd.

Any help would be appreciated.

this is related to your other threads i guess? you don't merge anything on tmpgenc plus. you'll do it with tmpgenc dvd author once they are encoded from tmpgenc plus.

now for the audio. since you can't seem to get sound out of and encoded file from tempgenc plus after you tried raising the directshow, you can do 2 things.

1) demux the ac3 with vitualdubmod and use this as the audio in tmpgenc dvd author.

or

2) convert the ac3 with virtualdubmod to wav and use this as the audio source before you encode them.

you need the ac3 acm decompressor installed if not already....

If you want to keep the ac-3 audio use besweet (get the gui, I use belight) and de-mux the ac-3 audio from the avi the audio will be save with the extension.ac3 Convert the video only with your encoder. I check the length of the audio and video 1st then either mux the two together or mux them together in my authoring program.

I'm pretty sure I got it all worked out....I burned it to a dvd and it played fine. The only thing now is that I'm still having difficulties adding music into the menu, but I think I'll be able to get it working.

Oh I used nandub to merge the 2 avi files into 1 and then stripped the AC-3 off of that with ffmpeggui and then used that in TMPGEnc DVD Author to author it.
