Editing Menu created by DVD recorder

Is there any way I can do this..........

I have an H&B DVD recorder. Successfully getting all sorts recorded onto it without any probs. I'm able to drag the VIDEO_TS folder off the DVDRW onto my PC to then create multiple copies if needed... I have successfully done some old VHS family tapes etc.

However, is it possible to edit the awful menu that this creates? I don't particularly want the terrible blue background and thumbnail pictures it creates.

Is there any way of editing the relevant file, any software to do this? For example, I'd like to put my own jpg/screen capture pic with a button/thumbnail that says just 'play' with a brief description of the clip. What the H&B recorder does is let you edit the title but very little else...including the fact that it has default creation date, running time etc which I don't want.

Can anyone help me?

Hi Fozzy,

I haven't tried it, but SpruceUp is said to be a very easy to use Menu Creation program, and has a free 30 day trial. If you don't need a clickable button you can make a presentation menu with PgcEdit (Free), which is something I use quite often for DVD Shrink movie only backups. I'm sure there are tons of other options as well.

Thks for he suggestion, almost there but it needs to be capable of taking the already created VOBS in rather than mpegs.

So, is there any menu creation software capable of taking in VOBs??

Fozzy, I'm sure there are. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with any of them. Hopefully somebody will jump in and offer you better advice.

OK, this looks daunting BUT WILL WORK. Just work your way through it.

Of course, you could use Titlewriter, by FallenAngel, which is available on this site in our Support Tools Forum. I also like DVDStyler, which works really well.
