How to just keep the menu and main movie?

By using DVD Srink you cannot insert a working menu when you 're-auther' a DVD. I have also tried with NeroSuite and you cant do it there eather. The only way to keep a working menu is by keeping all the extras but putting a still image over them (which still requires some MB) So is there a Guide for what I want? Prefrably one with free software...

I Use PgcEdit and follow the tip I got from jeanl, the author of MenuShrink:

Then, do a backup with movie only + menus. It's extremely simple in PgcEdit. Load the DVD, find the movie VTS (it's the largest most likely), and use "Utilities/Blank out all title PGCs in DVD". This will pop a dialog for each VTS asking whether you want to blank it. Answer OK for all the VTS except for the movie VTS for which you should say "cancel".
You end up with all the menus, and absolutely nothing else than what's in the movie VTS (usually just the movie). No extra, no previews etc...

It's very simple, that's what I use all the time.

Ok, thanks alot I will try that. So does it totaly get rid of the extras and stuff and not just put a blank screen over the top?

Yes - except for extras in menus and the VTS that has the main movie. To get ridda them, you need VobBlanker (or in the case of menus, remove the menu VOB - eg for VMGM (which often has all the warnings) as opposed to the real menu).

There no step by step guide, but some dood wrote a help file for PgcEdit. It's not that good but it gives you an indication of what each function does

blutach - hit the nail on the head with VobBlanker and the dood did a nice job explainng PgcEdit!

And in my opinion to finish up the Terrific Three - ya gotsta use MenuShrink on the menus to save even more MB (in some cases over 2GB) by shrinking the menus to still frames. Who needs singing and dancing dwarves in a menu when you do Snow White.
