I have recorded a programme from television and finalised the disc to give four VOB files. The files play OK through POWERDVD but when I import them into video editing software such as VideoReDo I only get a few seconds of video. Anyone got a solution?

I presume you have IFOs and BUPs along with the VOBs. If so, try a mock strip - see my signature.
If not, create them - http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/createifo094.html

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

Read the 'mock strip' guide and you'll find out what it does
You can't test a compilation by watching the .VOB files. You need to open the Video_ts.IFO file to load in the indexes and so on. If the .VOB plays ok, but the .IFO doesn't, then the compilation is incorrectly authored and you need to mock strip.
