I am now comfortable using DVDD & DVDshrink and want to move to the next level. Upto now I have been re-authoring and trying to keep the main movie at 100% (no compression) and then having a look through the extras and sticking what i wanted at the end with whatever compression was needed to fit all on the DVD.
However, I now fancy trying to copy a DVD keeping the menu system, but shrinking it to a still frame, keeping the button functionality, and stripping out some of the extras. Forum members seem to use PGCedit, Menushrink, VOBBlanker etc. Do i need all of these, or are they all alternatives to each other. I read a post that suggested VOBBlanker now does what Menushrink did, but am not sure whether i also need anything else.
I had a look at the VOBblanker site and noticed some guides. Are there any dummies guides etc on this forum.
Also, generally, how much space do i physically need on my drive/partition to copy/process/shrink a DVD. Presumably i need 8GB for the original rip to HDD, 4.5GB for the shrink file, but what about files created by VOBBlanker. Am i going to need 15GB+ for one DVD. Or once i have processed using VOBBlanker can i delete the original rip to HDD (the problem is that my partitions are all 10GB so it looks like i need to get my partition magic out unless i use more than one partition for the job - all of a suden my 60GB HDD doesn't look that big!)
Thanks again guys (& Gals) for your help & patience - I never realised you could do so much with a DVD. I previously thought you could copy the whole disc (and nothing more).
