Create "mixed dvds" how to

I’m a newbie who wants to create a mixed dvd from a number of different dvds. I want to be able to copy a certain chapter(s) from one or more dvds and burn them to a single playable dvd. Do I need additional software other than DVDShrink and Decrypter to accomplish this? If so, are any programs freeware? What do you recommend. Thanks a lot….

The way I like is to use DVD Shrink to get the video and DVD Author to get the menus - see this guide:
