    Simple DVD (cut certain part)

OK - I am TOTALLY new to this...
The thing that I want to perform sounds simple.. but..
I want to edit about 30 seconds worth of the DVD movie and clip it out to make an MPG or AVI - that's it!

    1. I have an unencrypted DVD.
    2. I have installed DVD Shrink.
    3. Placed the DVD in drive and it analyzed.
    4. Chose Re-Author and selected Title (only one no other chapters)
    5. Dragged to left window and right clicked to setup start time & end time.

I got an error - CRC error.

Perhaps I am doing this wrong?

    Any help is appreciated.

A "crc" error is usually due to a scratch, fingerprint or dirty disk. Try using Dvdfab decrypter or dvddecrypter to rip the dvd to your hard drive first. Then use dvdshrink to cut the part you want.

But, you say "I am able to watch the DVD fine in my DVD player." That is irrelvant, as drives and players operate on different programming. Drives are logical, players can interpret digital signals and are not choked by bad data.

{As he dances and - thinx of the song "Safety Dance" from the 80's)

I just love Men without Hats.

We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

Say, we can go where we want to, a place that they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind

            And we can dance

We can go when we want to, the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise them with the victory cry

Say, we can act if we want to, if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude or totally removed
And I can act like an imbecile

Say we can dance, we can dance
            Everything's out of control
We can dance, we can dance
They're doing it from pole to pole
We can dance, we can dance
            Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
            Everybody taken the chance

            The safety dance
            The safety dance
            The safety dance

We can dance if we want to, we've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it we are never going to lose it
And everything will work out right

Say, we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
well they're no friend of mine

-as he slaps his knee and laughs aloud....

Does DVD Decrypt allow one to save as an AVI/MPG/Other than just ISO?

DVD Decrypter only does .ISO and DVD structure files (.bup, .ifo, .vob files).

is there a program that you professionals use in order to convert an VOB file to AVI/MPG/WMV etc... I was reading aboutBasic Tmpgenc -
will this work to do that?

A VOB is a MPEG - just a subset of the MPEG standard. Just change the extension from .vob to .mpg
