how to create Navigation Pack with vobs?

i have just found out why i can't create ifo and bup files using ifoedit. if your vobs don't have Navigation Packs in them you cannot create an ifo. using vobedit i checked my vobs... the vobs with Navigation Packs, i can create ifo's with them through ifoedit. the ones without i can't. so i was wondering did anyone know how i'd go about creating navigation pack with all my vobs? something in a similar way when you join vobs so it just creates navigation pack in every vob in the directory? then i'd be able to create an ifo and i can get burning. any ideas?

You'll need to remux chance_.

Demux the VOB with PGCDemux (see the VobBlanker site in my signature) and remux them with muxman. You'll get your IFOs and BUPs too.

blutach, i'm looking at PgcDemux now and i'm not sure what i'm doing here. what boxes to tick, what mode to use and such. i only have vob files remember (no ifo)... and i want to create nav packs. so what do i do here?

No IFOs. Yes. Do it in Vobedit then. Load the first VOB in the VTS. Click Demux. Make sure demux complete titelset is checked. Then check demux video, audio and subs under demux multiple streams at once. Then let er rip.

okay, i had to rename the vobs to; VTS_01_1.vob, VTS_01_2.vob, etc. hehe. i had that named to VTS_01_001.vob - had to figure that one on my own ;]

it's Demuxing multiple steams from; VTS_01_x.vob (doing its thing) - i saved it into another directory so i didnt get confused; i see two files; VTS_01_1.80.ac3 and VTS_01_1.m2v. what are these files? and what do i do with them after it's finished demuxing?

hmm, VTS_01_1.m2v won't open in muxman under Video: (i get this; Multiple File Open Status: 0 files accepted, 1 files rejected) - but the file; VTS_01_1.80.ac3 opens under Audio:

Sounds like the video (that's what the m2v is) is not MPEG2 compliant.

what's that mean? it plays fine in powerdvd. is there a way to fix this? i'm so close :[

If muxman is not accepting it, then perhaps the video is not compliant with the standard.

Try it again. Sometimes, muxman can be a bit flaky adding PESs

what does compliant with the standard mean? what standard? sorry for the stupid questions. just trying to get a better understand. i tried it twice by the way. muxman won't let it through. i guess i'm screwed at this point? delete the vobs?

nevermind i've done it. i downloaded "ReJig" and demuxed the vobs in that instead of vobedit. then the VTS_01_1.m2v file loaded and it all worked out fine. it's burning as i'm typing this post :]

There is a standard way of making MPEG2 video. It seems strange though that muxman won't accept something that came out of Vobedit.

one little problem now. the burn went fine. but there's now chapters? it's just one big movie on the dvd. my other burns (where i didn't have to go through all this) had chapters, where you could click next and the start of a chapter would begin. this movie, there's no chapters - chapter 1 is the whole movie :S - is that because of the demuxing and all? even though it gave me ifo and bup files using "ReJig" i'll try create ifo through ifoedit and overwrite those that came from "ReJig". see if the chapters show on the next burn unless you can think of anything else?
