Adding Scenes into movies

I was just curious, does anyone know any good (as in free and easy) programs to add scenes back into movies? There's a couple of movies I'd like to add a few scenes to. Thanx!

LOL, the undeleted scenes! I thought of doing that with Hitch for the Ellis Island deleted scene (and I had plenty of space too).

First, if you wanna do it seamlessly, you must make sure the video and audio attributes are the same for the movie and the scenes to be inserted. Probably the easiest software for this is DVD Remake Pro. Using its Insert block and Replace block features, it is almost 1 click. It is not free, but IMHO, is very good value.

Non-seamless can be done with DVD Shrink's advanced compilation methods (using the set frames feature), if you don't mind 2 pauses (when you go to the inserted bit and when you resume). See here.

Well one of the movies I am doing it with is Titanic (surprise surprise right? And the deleted scenes are anamorphic and in Dolby EX, is it possible to make them DTS ES to match the DTS version of the film? If not I'll just keep the film itself in Dolby EX. Do you know how much DVD Remake Pro runs for?

Alright, so now that i have this program, how do I edit scenes back into movies? I looked for the Insert Block and Replace Block features but I do not see any...

Oops - I'm sorry, I didn't see your last post (Nov 7). The video and audio attributes need to be the same AFAIK. Otherwsie, if you have selected a DTS stream (say) and it is not present on your inserted bit, it could play the vid OK but with no audio.

I can't see a precise guide for this on Dimad's site. But DL the help file and search for "insert block" - that shows how to do it.

Cool, I tried adding a scene back in last night using the method I learned from that whole cobining 2 titles project... and it worked but i did have to change audio tracks for the scene that i added (so I am just going to keep the film itself in Dolby since the deleted scenes are also dolby).

Good idea! DVDRMP is very easy to do this specialised operation isn't it? I know it's a bit pricey but it's darn good.

It is pretty easy after i went through the guide, but now the only problem is, when I go to record it (since i am still using DVD Shrink since the new version of Nero apparently only records Data DVD's...) it makes it 2 seperate titles... which program should I use to record it?

IIRC, if you added the block correctly, there should be one title. And Ner0 Recode certainly does Video DVDs.

If your disk does not need shrinkning, just make an ISO image and burn it with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn.

Alright, now I am doing it right (I thin) but I am having problems. It says there's a problem when i added a block (do I want to add a block or a program?) it says there's a problem and I look in the log and it says something about the streams being different which I know they aren't. They're all flagged 448kbps English Dolby Digital Surround EX tracks... And then when I go to record it, it works, however I cannot fast forward rewind, pause or anything past like the first 10 minutes of the movie...

I presume this is where you inserted the block.

The general fix for these issues is a "mock strip" - see link in my signature.

So should I do that mock strip to the original file or should I do it to the one i create using DVDRemake? And do I want to add blocks into the movie? Or Add programs? Thanx for all the help! You have no idea how much you've helped me!

The one you created. Even easier might be to run the project through FixVTS (this is a prog that comes with the ArccOS plugin - see here).

I am curious, how many titles can I combine using the IFO/VBO edit programs that I used for combining the 2 discs?
