I have been all over the web and there are some cool " insert disc 2" video clips but I would really like to make my own so I can customize it to whatever DVD I am working with. Could someone tell me what tools to use to accomplish this and maybe a how to guide ( that maybe too much to ask for but it can't hurt to ask) Any help or point in a direction would be greatly appreciated.

any image can be used with the still image function, as long as it matches the resolution of the dvd (which for PAL is 720x576). but that resolution is not at 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio, so you have to make an image in which the resolution has a 16:9 ratio, like 720x405, then stretch it out by resizing, so that the final image looks stretched vertically, and has a resolution of 720x576. you can then load it into shrink.
most decent image editing programs can do the job, such as 'gimp'. my choice would easily be 'photoshop' and 'xnview' -
Hi couchspud525,
I have two PDF files, the "How to Create an Insert Disc 2 Video" and "How to Add Insert DVD Disc 2 to DVDShrink". The first file I've created myself and the second file I was lucky enough to be able to copy the entire instruction from a site long time ago. The best thing I really love in the "How to Add Insert DVD Disc 2 to DVDShrink" is that it shows you how to use IfoEdit to control the "Insert Disc 2" will remain on the screen or will stay there untill you remove your DVD from DVD player
I would like to post both of these instruction myself. Unfortunately, I don't know how to insert the pictures. My previous sticky, I am not able to thanks blutach enough for helping me extract all the pictures from my .pdf file and paste them to the guide. I, in fact, wouldn't like blutach to do that again since I know he is so busy of helping other members. Therefore, I include the printer friendly PDF file for you to download:Comment

Hi anonymez
IMHO, it is definitely better because by using with IfoEdit, you can control the "Insert Disc 2" will stay (up to 254 second) or will stay there untill you eject the DVD from DVD player
The second PDF file is to big for attachment (865 KB) . Probably I have to delete some pictures to reduce its size below 500 KBLast edited by benbryant; 15 Nov 2005, 02:14 PM.Comment

but anybody please correct me if i'm wrong, permanent damage could be done to your tv's/displays when the image on screen is sationary, or paused, for extended periods (like 'title removed' messages in shrink). nothing would happen though unless a person leaves the dvd in, the tv on, and leaves the room for a few hours, so i don't think it would be too much of an issue, but something to put in the back of you mindLast edited by anonymez; 15 Nov 2005, 02:19 PM.Comment

"How to Add Insert DVD Disc 2 to DVD Shrink"
In order to be able to attach the "How to Add Insert DVD Disc 2 to DVD Shrink" to this post, I have to delete some of the picture. By using IfoEdit to control how long the video clip remains on TV screen, we can insert our video clips in front, the middle, or the end of our main movie up to 254 secondsComment

See "Save heaps of MB" in my signature. Principle is the same. Note 255 in the time field = indefinite and it is sooooo much easier to use PgcEdit.

Just make a BMP from anything. You don't need any expensive software.

MSPAINT?
Or take a pic a scene from your movie and take a snapshot of it in your software player.
See my link above for how to Save heaps of Mb for how I do it.

couchspud525,
I've used Ulead Video studio7 to make my own clips. You can just have a simple text clip or add any image you want and add the text to that.
I used PowerDVD to "snap" any image from the Dvd.
The text I added to mine was the exact instructions to play the 2nd disc as all of my discs are in a Sony 400 disc changer and the procedure was a little complicated for my child.Comment
