the only thing really significant to me is this

Apply audio correction filters (noise reduction, fade-in/fade-out, audio gap correction, etc.)

add two simultaneous audio streams per video track

which would be nice since if the encoded file comes out of sync it can be corrected at the authoring stage (which takes no time at all and would eliminate the need for re-encoding). 1.6 supports ac3, and already does pretty much everything this "pro" version does. they need to add more to force me to upgrade and justify the expense to Mrs. Columbo, but that's just me

christmas is around the corner

but i may wish to wait, or maybe when i'm on holidays i'll download the trial and see. the only thing that sells me on it at the moment is the audio correction.

it also does transcoding but no way i'm gonna upgrade. between videoredo and shrink i've got everything i need...
