Combining Dual Sided DVD with Menu's ???

How can we combine dual sided DVD without loosing the Menu's ???. I know of a method to join it in DVD shrink by using just the main titles (but I loose the Menus then!!!).

Is their an alternative way to combine the two sides, before I run them through VOBblanker and Shrink ???.

Any similar solution with a software which is GNU/GPL licensed ???.

Can you do it with IFO/PGCedit ???

Very difficult with PgcEdit - need to remake the DVD from scratch, adding titlesets as you go and adjusting commands.

I know DVDRMP is commercial, but there's nothing better in this department - it literally is just a click or 2 to do what you want. Does heaps of other things too, of course. Well worth the $$$.

You could do the compile in DVD Shrink trick and try to add the menus back - see the VobBlanker site for a guide written by a turkey. You'll need to muck around with the menus in PgcEdit afterwards, probably adding buttons and commands to take care of disk 2.

Also, titlewriter (available on this site) may help you in creating basic menus after a DVD Shrink compile.

Thanks Blutach, although not many DVD's come out nowdays which are double sided. But I was curious and will definitely try to explore the options for a DVD10 -> DVD5 conversion once I lay my hand on a DVD10.

I thought it was the end of this post but then I came up with an idea so am continuing.......

Is it possible that I rip both sides of the flipper separately...shrink them separately but for size 2240 MB each only(2240+2240=4480 MB).

Then create a link in the side 1 menu to jump to side two Menu and somehow (this is not clear to me) combine them together in one Video_TS folder (or one inside the first)and burn !!!!!

Is this possible or am I getting too optimistic and inventive ???

Quite possible. Using the methodology outlined in DVDRMP just combine the disks.

Then you need to jump automatically to disk 2 - this will be simple manipulation of post commands after disk 1 ends. Do this with PgcEdit.

But I should warn you - the quality is not gunna be all that great.
