Can I make my DVD louder in volume?

Hi, I re did some home videos but the volume is extremely low; if i put the TV volume on very high, I guess it works; but then when I shut off the DVD the cable TV comes on so loud that I jump out of my seat...
can i redo my home dvd so i can louden the volume??

thank u very much, i downloaded audacity
but now its extracting the MP3 out of my VOB files, but then how do I redo my DVD? i guess just a couple of words about what action i should take...

Hi apercele79,

Please use PgcDemux to separate movie into audio and video files. Use Audacity or BeSweet as blutach's advice to edit the audio. Then use the Muxman to rejoin the video and edited audio again

PS: You can use BeLight if BeSweet's usage is complicated for you
