Converting .vro (DVD-RAM) to .vob (DVD)

I have the standalone Panasonic E-20 DVD Recorder and I recently got the L311 for my PC thinking that I could edit the movies recorded in DVD-RAM and copy them to DVD-R, but I found out that no software I have (DVDit, Ulead DVD workshop, Nero, etc.) can do that.

Does anybody know of any program with the capability of converting .vro into .vob files?

There is a program that allows conversion of .vro to mpeg2 with some editing called the DVD Movie Album I think. Currently its only in Japansese for NTSC by or for Panasonic and will be converted to English and to handle PAL, dont know when.

Someone Ive spoken to gave me a method to try.

Rename file extension from .VRO to .VOB.

Open this file in FlaskMpeg and convert to whatever.

I've not tried this and wont get chance to soon so let me know how it works out.

        It works!

Thanks for the tip. I changed the name of the file adding a .vob extension and I rencoded it in less than a minute using ReMPEG2. Then I played the new file with WindDVD with no problems.

Now the problem I have is that very frequently the DVDRs I make cannot be played in a standalone DVD player. I haven't tried it with this file, but I usually waste many DVDRs because I don't have a way to test the whole volume of the final recording before burning it. DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF ANY BURNING SOFTWARE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO SO? I use Nero.

You need to describe what method you are using to author your discs so people can better help.
