No problem blutach. I just got off the phone with my friend and I will be getting the same disc back, I will check decrypter log again. Your probably right... maybe it was just a bad rip. But regardless, it will be nice to see menushrink not crash under whatever circumstance I (or decrypter?) caused. Thats is, if jeanl is even going to release it? Just wanted to say thanks for the help, and I look forward to continue enjoying this community and the many nice programs!

candrik, thanks for the bug report. I've modified menushrink so it does not crash, only complains... mpucoder (DVD expert) seems to think that absence of picture header is NOT legit. So the DVD is weird, but that's no excuse!

@cendrik - it's really not a MenuShrink issue. Your VTS_16_0.VOB has serious issues. Don't know what you ripped it with, but DVD Decrypter would have complained bitterly (even with the plugin). You do know that DVD Fab Decrypter ignores such errors and makes the rip look good? This is one of the most serious issues with DVDFD and why I won't bother using it (or recommending it) until fengtao puts in his long-awaited mod NOT to ignore read errors.

Did you see the VOB TR? It didn't have a GOP picture start code header!!!!! Couldn't figure out if it was an I-frame. Totally un MPEG-2. Dunno where poor cendrik got it.

I suspect it was never played (as it was a very small VOB). Might just have been a placeholder.

EDIT: Yes - that's all it is. Might be a rather unsophisticated form of copy protection. Here are the pre-commands

As you can see based on what's in G9, you jump back to somewhere in VMGM without playing the video. Totally deleting the menu VOB (via PgcEdit's Kill Playback) would fix everything. Not worth the effort of buggering up the VOB.

I did use DVD Decrypter and it didn't bark any error at me and from what I remember when I glanced at the log it looked like everything went well. I don't know what else to say, I swear to God that is what I did lol. (Sorry God) It is the truth.

The only thing I can think is somehow I messed up the file on my own with vobblanker or something.

Like I said though I am getting that disc back... but I don't know if you want me reporting anything more about it. I really respect this forum and I don't want to be possibly running against your rules.

Well, maybe your mate can post about his backing up.

Make sure his/your DVD Decrypter settings are set to default - except for region code and disable auto check for updates.
