    Need help fixing DVD made in Cambodia

    hi, i'm new to this forum, i recently went to cambodia and got married, i had a dvd made of my 2 day wedding, when i got hopme back in the states i found my 2 dvds would not play in any dvd players only in my computers dvd player, and they freeze up all the time, i have been trying to fix them, ewiyh nero software, but i keep getting error messages, and cannot seem to fix. does anyone know what softwhare tro use to make new dvds that will work in dvd players off of these disks, and how i can do this, or know where i might send thise and get them fixed, any help would be apreciated, i have the hardware to make dvds on my laptop, and i have access to all kinds of software, thanks in advance, billy

    i paid a great deal of money to have these made they are very good quality, just like a movie, they just have errors on them and won't play on stand alone dvd players. they made vcdss for my wifes family in cambodia, and they are fine, but thought dvds would be better for me, aparently they were not as skilled in making dvds please help if you can

    Hi pbilly,

    I am afraid that your wedding DVDs could be created under PAL format with the not good enough DVD media. Your DVD Player can only play NTSC DVDs and converting DVDs from PAL to NTSC is not an easy task at all. I would strongly recommend you to shop for DVD player which can play both PAL and NTSC format

    Regards

      It could also be your DVD player is not capable of playing the type of disc IE +R or-R,or even +RDL or-RDL.Put the disc in your computer and run Imgburn.It will tell you what type it is.Do you know what discs your players are capable of playing?

          What brand/model are your players?Are the discs dirty? Try cleaning them.
          I'm just suggesting some basic ideas.Do you have any experience with this DVD stuff at all,so I don't state the obvious?

            Does it have an adhesive label on it? If so, remove it.

                From PQ1 Specs::
                Agile enough to spin your movies and music, and small enough for your office, apartment, kitchen, or bedroom, Sony's MP3-friendly DVP-PQ1 Psyc-model DVD player brings healthy doses of style and convenience to your busy life. Play your favorite movies, your homemade music mixes, and even your DVD-based home videos on video-mode DVD-R/DVD-RW). The clear, fan-shaped cover on the player's lid opens to let you customize the player's appearance, and Sony provides a design sheet to get you started.
                You said the disc you have is a plus R so its not compatible.

                    I have no experience with the PAL to NTSC conversion but try reading here http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...light=PAL+NTSC
                    Or do as Benbryant suggested,

                      Buying a multi-format (NTSC/PAL) DVD player is a much much better solution than going through a painful conversion process.

                          I think you are always going to come back to that 42% unreadable.Is there anyway you can get a hold of original that dvd was made from?
