Now, for making the BMP, I would assume the pic size should be 720x480. But, for a widescreen menu, what size do I make it then? Or is it easier to make a fullscreen menu?

NTSC is 720 x 480 for full D1. Make it that. The easiest thing is to simply take a screen shot of a scene you like with PgcEdit or even PowerDVD etc.

It's a menu. You can make it what you like. Code it hard matte top and bottom, if you like.

What I did was got a screenshot, which was widescreen, and used Paint to put black bars on the top and bottom. Now I gotta figure out how to make the VOB file it made into a menu in PgcEdit... wow this is hard stuff!
Ack! I used PgcEdit in Menu -> Import menu and it added it... now it says there is no video! And so it won't let me add menu buttons? Is there another way to do this?
--EDIT--
I just opened the menu VOB in VirtualDubMod, and it shows the menu pic, but says it is Frame 0. Is this normal? It is just the one frame, but shows as being "Frame 0".Last edited by blutach; 8 Jan 2006, 01:13 PM.CYA Later:

You have a little DVD consisting of a "still".- Make a new menu PGC in PgcEdit - this is a one click process (hover over VTSM then PGC --> New dummy PGC). Save the DVD.
- Launch VobBlanker and use its replace function to replace the video (none cos its a dummy) with your little DVD. Save and close.
- Then re-open it in PgcEdit and add your buttons.

Alright, I will try it.
I don't see a Replace function in VobBlanker. Am I just stupid?
--EDIT--
I found the replace... but the titles show as VTS_01_X in VobBlanker, so if I replace with the menu, it brings it from 3 gigs to 250 kb... that should not happen. Any chance you could make a little guide with pictures of how to do that?Last edited by blutach; 8 Jan 2006, 01:13 PM.CYA Later:

You're not stupid, I have missed a step.
1A. After creating the dummy PGC in PgcEdit (or just deciding to use the root menu), double click on the PGC and click New blank cell. OK and the save. Note, this happens in the MENU doman, not the titles.
Now, in VobBlanker, you just have to drill down to that cell (in the top part, not the bottom, which are the titles). Get to the cell list and double click on the cell you just created and you will be able to replace.

Alright, I will try and let you know what happens.

Alright, blutach, I got it. I am making the menu buttons now, but I am unsure as to how to make the buttons jump to the chapters. What is the menu command for that?CYA Later:

I have made the buttons, and still do not know how to do jumps to chapters. I have a new problem: The menu shows up as being less than one second long... so that when I hit the Menu button on a software player, it just flashes and goes back to the movie. How do I make the menu stay on the menu screen?CYA Later:

@drf - Please observe rule 14.
I can not give you a crash course in VM programming in this thread. Suggest you go to DVD Replica (see link in my signature) or even easier, use DVD Remake Pro. But, in general, you would execute JumpVTS_PTT commands. Check out a regular chapter menu in a commercial DVD.
e.g.Code:[30 05 00 01 00 01 00 00] (JumpVTS_PTT) Jump to TTN 1, Chapter 1

Appears that the Cell Time is greyed out.
Hmmm, I fixed it, has to be on Random mode. I got the buttons too. BUT, when played in a software player, the menu is just black. Why? It is pretty useless with a black menu.Last edited by drfsupercenter; 9 Jan 2006, 12:16 PM.CYA Later:

CELL STILL TIME - next to Cell CMD#
You will also need to import/design a CLUT

Hmmm... I got it to be infinite. What do you mean import/design a CLUT? Is that why the menu is just black? If so, why would it be black when in PgcEdit you can clearly see the menu pic?
Oh yeah, another question... the command on the menu is to jump to the title menu, which is probably wrong. What should the command be on the TitleM? Nothing? Or something else?Last edited by drfsupercenter; 9 Jan 2006, 12:20 PM.CYA Later:
