Adding a menu to already made DVD

It's why you can't see the highlights. You need to set the menu colour lookup table (CLUT).

What about the menu being black though? It is pretty useless if there is just a black menu there.

Hmmm... I see the CLUT, it is all green. Any suggestions on what it should be?

Play around with the CLUT. The menu should have some background that you have designed - it's pretty useless otherwise. You sure you have replaced the blank cell with the one you designed? Only after that should you add buttons.

Yes, I am sure that I replaced the blank with the picture - otherwise, PgcEdit would not show the pic as the menu, but the blackness. I will play around with the CLUT, not sure if it will help though.

Well, I got the pic to show... turns out that having the action command set to jumping to the title menu is not good... so I removed all commands. Even with the CLUT copied from another DVD, the buttons are transparent. If I use the mouse to click on a menu button, it jumps to that chapter. But if I use the arrows (which represent the DVD remote), there is no way to tell what chapter is selected.

You need to change the transparency/opacity in the colour table. Play around with the values to get a good one. Use PgcEdit for this.

I was using PgcEdit. I copied and pasted the values right from another DVD. Now, each button has a transparency/opacity table, do I have to do that for all 21 buttons?

Just the PGC. Since these menus are self made, it won't hurt running them through MenuShrink.

How do you set the opacity for the PGC? And what will MenuShrink do to the menu?

MenuShrink might fix a pointer or two, especially the highlights.

To fix the opacity, go to the menu editor - it's all in the help file.

Hmmm... no good. I changed the values to all opaque and they still don't show up! Does it have anything to do with the picture in the background or something? This is starting to drive me crazy

How big is the menu? Perhaps zip it and the IFOs and post it.
