using dvdfab, find it easier than dvdd..
but I have been using dvdd some just to broaden my horizons.

I've seen a lot of those rippings with the end result that the main movie ended up as unreferenced material - even if the ripp was good. I guess it's the import in DVD Shrink that is causing it. Remember that DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.2.0 had problems with that on certain ARccOS protected DVD's before ver 3.5.3.0 was released.

Could you try to run the ripped files thru FixVTS?

You can find the instructions in this post:

Use the instructions in section 5.3.1 and then go to step 4 and start from that point.

After dragging a .VOB file over to the FixVTS GUI - press the button - 'Full DVD'. When it's done - open up the files in DVD Shrink.

I thought Fab's last update took care of FixVts problems?
This will take some time to learn all these little plugins
and add-ons, so If you dont hear from me my head exploded.....
What did you guys learn from all those logs and zipped files? any many rips that I did...or is that a secret?
I jumped thru the hoops,
I am sick of wedding crashers...so please prepare us for the next time this comes up, using dvdd and all the accessories to make it go, is a daunting task to a rookie....

like a nice flow chart:
dvdd>fixvts>pgcedit>psl2>vobblanker>ifoedit>vobedi t>dvdshrink>imageburn>neroburn..
just list them all with there proper order to run them and branch off from: "if this happens go here and do this"

it would save you alot of time fielding questions

sorry I got cranky, shoudnt have slid into second on astroturf..
O.K. so I used dvdd on Crashers and Shrunk it and am posting the sreenshots, reauthored and pulled out Title 1, also including that screenshot.
your right, much better structure with dvdd..
W/O using Fixvts,
I would have no idea on how to recognize "the problematic VOB file" so I dont have a clue what to do with this program. (FixVts) or when to use it..

There should be no issue with that DVD and your latest screenshots indicate that you are good to go. I do not know why there was so much unreferenced material and the movie was excluded using Fab.

Any further problems, post your logs.

Just 1 thing: That DVD has what is called seamless branching on it. This is most likely due to parental management on the DVD (that's why you got shared titles - some of them are "censored"). In this case, in re-author mode, you may get things playing that you don't want. Be mindful of which version you take and watch out for inconsistencies on your backup.

FYI FixVts is used right after DvdD as long as rip went OK.It is an extremely easy & useful tool to use especially for a rookie.

Drag only title 1 (or which ever title you like the most) into the preview preview window to decide, although some titles are exactly the same except for the last 10 min or so.

I guess you have not seen or backed up the US version of this disk. this disk does not have multiple titles. Themain movie itself is plit into several titles, mos t of it in the "unreferenced material" section which cannot be reautored

The material in the unref section cannot be played with a normal DVD player!
So, either it's not really a part of the main title, or you got the DVD Shrink bug with non consecutive VOB IDs. In the latter case, you should try to process the DVD with FixVTS before using Shrink. In Shrink, a deep analysis can sometimes help, too.
