    MenuShrink questions regarding advance options...

Take a look at this image. For some reason, when I load the VTS file into Menushrink, it shows the menu for the previews that are available to view?

    1. I thought I deleted all the previews including the menu for viewing the previews with VOBBlanker.
What is going on? That's the first question. Anyway...

    2. Based on the image that is attached, you can see there are several Shrinking options for video tileset menu selection.

When I unchecked all except for the one that "Shrink VTSM 3" then the proper menu shows up.

I'm presuming I got it right but what does VTSM mean? VMG?

    Update:
Ok I processed it using the process I stated above. Now, when I loaded it in DVD Shrink, it gave an error stating there is a problem with VTS3.

    Ok, now I'm lost.

VTSM = VTS Menu Domain (the menus in VTS_0x_0.VOB).
VMG = Video Manager (essentially the menus in VIDEO_TS.VOB)

      Techo terms.

Do it again and just keep them all ticked. See how it goes. This app is bulletproof.

        Blutach,

this is really annoying me. I was pretty sure I was very careful from beginning to this point. From ripping with DVD decrypter, using VObblanker and so forth.

When I drag the VTS into menu shrink, I did get that screen where it showed a menu for the previews. Previews that I "BLANKED" out. Not the menu for, "PLAY", "SCENE SELECTION", "EXTRAS", "ETC.".

I dragged and dropped several times, aborted several times. Finally, I just restored all files back and ran it through VOBBlanker again. Dropped the new process back into Menushrink and it now works. I haven't burned the DVD yet, but I will be trying to remove the unreferenced material again.

            nutsnbolts,
How did you delete the menu for the previews? Did you do that with vobblanker? I wasn't aware the vobblanker allowed you to destroy a menu (it's a dangerous thing to do, because the navigation can get reallys screwed, since normally the user is supposed to select something).
In any case, it's quite possible that vobblanker didn't remove the menu entirely, just replaced it by a black frame, and that would be why you still see it with menushrink...
            Is that a problem?

MenuShrink can shrink your menus to 5-10% of their original size.

              Jeanl:

Honesty, it blanked out the actual previews. On the other hand, there is another menu that allows you to select which preview you want to see. When I load this into menushrink, that menu is what I see not the actual movie menu. That is the reason for this topic.

After reading more and more, researching more and more, I'm finding out that it doesn't get rid of the actual menus. I loaded the same set of files after blanking out previews and I noticed that...now I see the "preview menu" in vts_03..no previews within it.

To answer your questions, it didn't black out the frame as well. It's still there, I can see preview menu.

I'm searching right now on the forum on "how to remove the actual menus", specifically the preview menu which is something I don't need obviously.

Any in addition to this would be nice.

Removing the menu isn't going to buy you much!
In terms of space, it buys you close to nothing (especially if you still it in vobblanker or with menushrink).
If you removed the previews with vobblanker, then using the preview menu won't crash your DVD at all.
If you're trying to simply clean up your preview menu, i.e., remove it entirely, it's more complicated. You probably access it from the main menu, so you'll have to modify the main menu so the "preview" menu button is disabled. But i guess you'll also want to modify the background, which you can do with vobblanker... But all this is involved. I'm not sure it's worth your time! It all depends on what you're trying to achieve...
Your previews are gone, and that's probably the most important thing!

Then in that case, I'm not going to bother with trying to remove the "menu" for the "preview".

On the other hand, answer this for me if you can. When I use Menushrink. I drop the proper file onto it and it brings up the "preview menu". I'm like, huh...Is what is supposed to happen? DVD's with preview menus will show up first?

I noticed that as I proceed and shrink that "preview menu" it goes through showing me the actual menu as well. I guess that is why I want to try to extract/delete the preview menu.

                    nutsnbolts,
menushrink will not show you the menus in the order they will appear when you play your DVD. It's much simpler than that (it does not have a "dvd player" in it). It shows you the menus in the order in which they're stored in the DVD, which might be very different than the order in which they're played.
In fact, it's quite possible that a menu is no longer accessible (for example, because you disabled a button leading to that menu in the main menu) but you will still see it in menushrink because it's still in the disc (simply it's never played)...
