Reauthoring with subtitles and without

Hi!

I am trying to take two clips w/o subitiles and two diffrent clips with subtitles and put it in a single dvd. Dvd shrink does so but it puts every clip into diffrent titles. Is there any way to have all the four clips (keeping the subtitles) into a single title?

If not then is there anyway to author the dvd in a way that pressing the next chapter button on the remotw will skip to the next title?

Yeah, Nero can do this. See here. What that does is make the merged files into one title. Then you can use Nero to edit the chapter points so that they are where you want them, using a DVD editing program like Chapter Edit (if you need it, I will attach it, as it's pretty hard to find.)

Also, DVD Remake Pro is (supposedly) easier but is not free.

Will dvd remake pro also take care of resolution and sound problems, the two clips am tryingin tocombine also have diffrent resolutions and different number of sound channels, without loss in subtitles?

yeah, it should. But it costs about 100 bucks. Nero is your best bet, I think, as you can get a full-function trial.

drf - you are full of errors

1. DVDRMP is not $100 - it is US$50

2. Nothing can take care of different resolutions without a re-encode - especially Ner0 which is next to useless.

@dvfanatic: In order for a title to be a single title it must have the SAME video and audio attributes (in fact, a domain (broadly a VTS) containing a number of titles must also have the same attributes for all titles in the domain). Note, all audio streams don't have to be used, just present in the domain with the same identification. However, for a single title, it needs to have the audio stream in the same positions and the same video resolution (eg you can't mix half D1 and full resolution in a title (or a domain).

@blutach... sorry I was thinking of another DVD program that was $100 for PRO and $50 for lite. Also, I reccomended Nero BEFORE he mentioned that the resolution was different. If the resolution was the same, which is a logical deduction from his original post, it would have done what he wanted. @DVfanatic... If the resolution is different, depending on the program, you should be able to re-encode it with the same bitrate and different resolution quite easily. What type of file is this (MPG, AVI, DVD folder with VOB/IFOs)?
