Subtitles turn Green??

Hi, I have a problem.

I started out by converting a Xvid to DVD with nero.
after that I Demultiplexed the DVD with Vobedit to audio, video.
Then i took a srt.file and converted to .sup (sync already matching)
after that i Multiplexed the DVD back together with Ifoedit.
I did'nt copy the subtitle-color from the original IFO-file since it did'nt contain any subtitles.

I looked at the result in VLC-player and it looked really nice so i burned it.
But when looking at it in the dvd-player the subs turn green!
not at all like the ones i choose.(white with black line and grey shadow)

can someone please help me??

I had a problem like this - it has to do with the CLUT (color lookup table)

Open the DVD in PgcEdit and then double click on the problem title. You will see green squares.

Just change those to what you want them - white is best.

Take your original DVD, open it in PgcEdit, double click on the PGC and copy the CLUT. Open the re-authored project and paste the CLUT. Keep both instances of PgcEdit open simultaneously.

I thought it came from an AVI file...

U can also do it in IFOEDIT.Open the relevant IFO of ur produced video.Click on VTS_PGCITI.Select the PGC u want.Now in the lower window scroll down to Colour 0 Y Cr CB.Double click on it.U get to Hex Edit Module.Tick ONLY Hex.Now change the values to what u have in ur original DVD.Do the same for Colour 1,2 and 3.

Not sure why someone gave me negative rep over my post on this thread... the info is actually accurate (sorry blutach for being wrong more often now! That is still less than 1% of my total posts though)

The CLUT is what determines the color of the subs, blutach helped me with that a while ago.

Drfsupercenter is right tho, I cant copy the CLUT from the original IFO cus it was converted from an Xvid.
But i can copy CLUT from another DVD.
Im kind of a newbie to this, it's my first attempt to putting subs 2 a DVD.
but i have a question:
The .srt,sub,sup-files ect doesnt contain any color-information in it self no?
it's just plain letters in black yes?and it's the IFO that contains the color-information and adds colors to the subs?

There is not colour info in the subbies. They are 2 bit run length encoded. The colours they take on are from the CLUT.

DL and install DVDSubEdit 0.75, and that will be able to show you in real time how the changes you make to the CLUT afect the display of your subbies.

It's just that when you mentioned hex editing, and all we had was IfoEdit, it makes me think of how old I am

Hi again

I got it working now!

I have a few other questions now:

1: Is there any program where i can make a menu and STILL keep the subtitles? (not availible on nero it seems).I would prefer a nice proper 1 where u can make undermenus,like on a original DVD, and not just predefined backgrounds,buttons,layout and such, but one where u can make your own.
if there aint a .exe that can be so costumized i can settle with if there's just a program where u can make menu and keep the subs.

2:If i wanna choose between turning the sub on and off, how do i do?
my solution was to make an empty srt-file and convert to .sup (i had to keep 1 line so i chose to write a line "NO SUBS" in the beginning of the movie.
but how is the real way to do this?

Try DVD Styler. To turn subs on and off, look at the READ THIS FIRST sticky in this forum.
