    Cutting scenes: R to PG-13

I own a few movies that have the occasional scene that a mute button does not fix. My arsenal includes Nero 6 (suite), DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and MenuShrink.

In the movie Walking Tall, for example, I wanted to cut out the provocative scene where Rock's "childhood sweetheart" gives him a show.
I ripped and encoded with Shrink, then used NeroVision Express to add the files created by Shrink, go into the Main Title, go into Cut Mode, and set the start/end frames to remove. It worked and burned successfully, but was pretty tedious. On subsequent movies that require more editing (40 Year Old Virgin), each time I try to Edit the Main Title so I can go into cut mode, NeroVision Express locks up (permanent hourglass->Not Responding).

Is there another method, or another (free) program that is easier to use to edit my movies? I may have something already I'm just not utilizing.
As info, I am not a "quality" afficionado-60% compression looks just as good to me as the original (kudos to the programmers for their work).
I also do not want to spend 4 hours making my own "director's cut." I like efficient; I like effective; I like quick-and-easy.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

You can do the same thing with DVD Shrink alone though by using the Set Start/End Frames in Re-author mode. Anytime you have problem of ripping DVD with DVD Shrink, rip it with DVD Decrypter

But can you do that in the middle of the movie, and multiple times?
I thought that you could only use that to cut off opening or closing credits.

        Yes, you can SweetMeef

Ok, let put your DVD in and load DVD Shrink.

1- Go to Re-author mode, select the main movie on the right pane and drop it to the DVD Structure on the left pane. For example, you want to cut 2 parts in the movie

2- Select Set Start/End Frames. For example, the first part you want to cut it about 5 minutes after the movie started. On the Start Frame, don't touch it because it is the beginning of the movie. On the End Frame, click and drag the slider or use the rewind button to revert it to one frame before the beginning of the first part where you want to cut. Click OK when done.

3- Drag and drop the main movie to the DVD Structure again. Go to the Set Start/End Frames in Re-author mode. On the Start Frame, click and drag the slider or use the forward button to one frame after the end of the first part you want to cut. On the End Frame, click and drag the slider or use the rewind button to one frame before the beginning of the second part you want to cut. Click OK when done. You are done with skipping the first part and also time for the second one

4- Drag and drop the main movie to the DVD Structure pane again and follow the same procedure as steps 2 and 3 to eliminate the second part. Press Back up and you're on your way. You can cut as many parts in the same movie as you want too using DVD Shrink. As you do it a few times, you master it and it becomes faster for you

        Regards

You could also try Ulead DVD Workshop as well. But, you'll lose the menus and subtitles and other stuff.

I used VobBlanker to edit Episode 3 down to a more friendlier version for my kids.... took a while, but it worked

What's wrong with Episode III, other than the twins' birth?
