VobBlanker guide for dummies?

You are missing the point, firstly they are more professional for what they are meant, Shrink is for compression and VOBblanker for blanking.

Secondly, if you goto reauthor mode of Shrink you loose the menus, whereas you can retain them if you use VOBBlanker and still save space.

The key difference in removing disclaimers/ warning between Shrink and VOBblanker is that if you remove these with Shrink and replace it with a Still image, you will see that still Image for the whole period of time, the disclaimer was originally meant to show, whereas if you use VOBblanker its only a fraction of second to skip that disclaimer.

That's exactly what I had always planned on doing, BUT... the point of this thread was supposed to be how a dummy like me can use VOBBlanker to remove Arccos protection. I don't care about it's other functions.

The only resaon I would use this would be to "fix" Arccos protected DVD's. I "blank"/remove all the subtitles, languages, etc. in DVD Shrink already. How do I set this program up to make Sony Arccos DVD's copiable? That's all I want it to do.

I don't use DVD Decrytor, or PGCedit or PL2, etc., etc, so therefore I take it that I can not simply use VobBlanker on it's own to remove the Arccos protection?

Maybe this would be a better statement, ALL I WANT is simple (and FREE!) "1-click" program that copy the DVD to my PC, whilst removing ALL current copy protection. Afterwhich I can use my DVDShrink to edit it down to just the movie itself and a single 5.1 audio track, which I would use Nero to burn to a blank.

You can try DVD Fab Decrypter (which you also don't use, I guess). There's a sub-forum dedicated to it here. Search is your friend.

However, I can caution you that DVD Fab Decrypter is not as good a solution as others as it:

• Ignores all read errors - even real ones, leaving you with the feeling that you have a good rip, even if the source material is damaged
• Does not write as compliant DVD files as other rippers

Take your choice.

Believe me, just reading I can see the "attitude" blutach says along the thread...May be you do not have the answers you want, but the things are not so simple as a YES or NO, and they are trying to show and explain you the different options....

NO. VobBlanker is not a decrypter.

Changind audio stream

Its more powerful than you think. I will list out few more uses adding to what Jsoto has said.

- I use Vobblanker to blank out extras, disclaimers etc (most basic use of VOBblanker)

- I use VOBblanker to blank out the the end credit Cells, saving appx 200-300 MB straight.

- I use VOBlanker to Crop, keeping only the actual movie from Start to End (without the credits) with menus.

- VOBblanker can be used to remove those uncomfortable scenes from inbetween the movie (if you have kids) still keeping the menus.

- VOBblanker can be used to remove the "Unreferenced Folder" you typically find after Menushrink, once you open it with DVD shrink.

- VOBblanker can be used to strip those unwanted language Audio.

- VOBBanker can be used to arrange the ILV cells so that DVD shrink does not create problems later.

- VOBblanker can also be used for creating Still menus.(Just like Menushrink)

Hello there!
PLS let me know if VOB BLANKER also allows for editing chapters time. I've made an alteration in audio (removing some tracks and adding a new one, using PGC edit, Muxman and Vob Blanker), but the final output modified the chapters (when I point to a chapter in the MENU, it always goes back to the Main Menu, because all chapters (viewing in PGC EDIT) have the same start and end time, which points to the Main Menu).
Can you help me, pls?
