I have a panasonic lf-d311 and am using Gear DVD Pro. After using Smartripper to extract all files to do a dvd-5 disc, I have been selecting the DVD-Video (which is an ISO/UDF) format, loading my VIDEO_TS folder, and a few discs have recorded and played fine in my set-top player, as well as the dvd-r. Sometimes, when I load the files, I get an error like this...
"Load error on file VTS_01_01.ifo. File can not be loaded at the requred address (648). Address is already occupied. First available load address is (660)."
I have no clue what this is about...PowerDVD plays the files fine. And I am pretty sure there is not a problem in the ripping.
So, I tried the DVD-ROM (ISO/USF) option, and tried to burn the same movie two times with this method. Once was with "UDF for ISO/UDF data tracks version 1.50" and the other with version 1.02. I read on a few posts to use the version 1.02, and thought that this would solve my problem. The discs play fine using PowerDVD, but it comes up with some type of thing like "playing from file", like it is not seeing it as a dvd-video. I am tired of coasters, so I need some help.
Okay, that was the background information; here are my questions...
1. What is the difference between DVD-Video (ISO/UDF) and DVD-ROM (ISO/UDF)?
2. What is the "standard" for dvd-video...ISO/UDF, or pure UDF? (gear has a pure UDF option...should I try that?)
3. Is it necessary to create an image file of all of the VIDEO_TS folder contents prior to using a DVD-ROM authoring option?
4. Does anybody know what that GEAR DVD Pro error I listed above is all about?
Thanks!!!
