help with .vob files in cultural documentary

ripped DVD with shrink dvd--great tool,as you folks know...

files now stored on hard drive as VTS.mpg (according to properties) but elsewhere as VTS.mpg.vob

Adobe Premiere 6.0, my editing tool, states that file is "unsupported type" and/or "won't import subdirectories"

I also have .ifo, .vob., and .bup files stored on hard drive --
    what to do?
thanks for your consideration of my dilemma...

    Hi Claudia Belleau,

You can't edit DVD files directly with Adobe Premiere. You can use DGIndex and VFAPIConvEN to frameserver the files to the Premiere. The entire procedure is not too hard at all:

Just rip the movie (main movie) to hard drive with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter. Open the ripped DVD (.ifo, .vob., and .bup files) with DGIndex and save the project. Finally, start VFAPIConvEN, load the DGIndex project, and click convert. After that you can load the VFAPIConvEN's converted file to Adobe Premiere. Just remember not to move or rename any file during the process. You can download these tools here:

VFAPI Reader Codec is a small tool that allows you to convert and read various VFAPI pseudo files in applications that normally don't support them (like in VirtualDub).

Neuron2.net – Xvid, Divx, Mpeg-4, Hevc, Openh264 & Other Video Codecs In the realm of digital media, video codecs play a critical role in how we capture, compress, decode, and display video on various devices.
