Can you edit .ISO files?

Sorry for the dumb question but I'm still learning this whole backup/editing thing. My problem is my backup .ISO file of Chicken Little has subtitles throughout the movie when played on any standalone player, however when played on the PC is does not. I was thinking about messing with DVDSubEdit and thought this would be a good learning experience, but before I get started I would like to know, if .ISO files can even be edited to begin with? Any other suggestions welcomed as well.

What software player are you using? Before editing, try Media Player Classic - see link in my signature.

ISOs are generally read only, but can be mounted as a virtual drive with daemon tools. You can then copy the files in the virtual drive to a folder on your PC for editing.

If it plays, you have no problem, as far as I can see.

I use Ultraiso, you can change the contents (add or sutract files)

Thanks, blutach for the help and info, but it looks like I'll just re-rip Chicken Little and work straight from the.VOB's. Daemon Tools looks like a great app, however, I'm not a big fan of Ad Supported programs (WhenU). Thanks again.

Didn't think it had ads. Anyways, re-ripping is the easiest way to go.

The ads are voluntary and don't install if you don't want them.
