    edit dvd audio

scuse me if you would, I'm probably gunna ask a question that has been asked a hundred time before.....but I can't find the answer I'm after. My question is, I want to backup my copy of Rainman and edit out the swearing.
I have ripped the audio only off the disk and edited it using cool edit pro, I have then used cyberlink power director to join the audio and video together, the resulting file has the video shorter than the audio.
When I edited the audio I chose 'silence' under 'effects' so that the file wouldn't be shortened.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated,
    waiting patiently for your advice,
    Scruffy

U need not have ripped the audio.U could have opened the file(video+audio)in CPD and just muted the portion of audio that has the swearing. Then re produce the file. However, this will cause some loss due to reencoding. One programme that can do this without reencoding(and hence,no loss) is Womble MPEG Video Wizard.

Thank you very much for your help, but I have been playing with mpeg video wizard for the past four hours, I have read all the help files, and I still can't get the results I want, this is becoming a fruitless task that I think I should forget about.
      thanks anyway,

In MPEG Video Wizard, import the vob into the timeline. Now Right Click on it.Then select AUDIO/SOUND EDITOR.Now u will have a line in ur clip in timeline which shows the level of audio.U can drag that line up or down to increase or decrease the volume respectively.
