You can use DVD Shrink plugin in PgcEdit to fix it for you. Just go to the link below to download and install the Pluig Installer. Start iPgcEdit up and open the DVD with it, on the toolbarm go to Plugins > DVDshrink > DVDShrink Remote Button < press Yes > Chexk all > Continue. Go to File and press Save DVD. That's it

DVD Shrink "Re-author" mode is simple to use, yet very flexible and powerful.
It enables you to make "movie-only", "movie+extras" backups, compilations, "Split" a DVD.
Its only drawback is the loss of the menus.

This seems like a good place to ask this!
I too have discovered the benefits of the DVDShrink plugin for PGCEdit. However, I have one question that I can't seem to find discussed anywhere else...
When using the "Redo Authoring" feature of the plugin, a strange thing happens to the final result...
All of the chapters disappear from the display features of any set-top dvd player. I don't mean to say they're removed... they're not. You can still forward and reverse through the chaps, it just doesn't "show" them in the display properties of the disc. (CH 2/20, etc.)
Here's the kicker! The timecode is gone as well. Instead of seeing the minutes and seconds tick by on the front of a player, all that is shown is the word "play" through the entire title. I've seen other DVDs (Professional ones) authored this way, usually when episodic content is involved.
My question, basically, is this... is this supposed to happen? If not, can it be changed?Comment

The "Redo Authoring" function creates dummy PGCs associated with the titles, so that the prev button can be used to jump back to the previous title.
Unfortunately, when a title is spread over several PGCs (even if the whole video is present in only one PGC) the title is considered as "non sequential". A non sequential PGC cannot theoretically have a time map, and you cannot use the time seek functions. However, many players will continue to consider them as sequential titles, but standard compliant players should not allow to use time related functions.
It's the first time I hear of a problem with the chapters and the display, though.
To avoid this problem, use the old method "DVDShrink Remote Buttons", and do not select any of the functions using the Prev, Next or GoUp buttons. Basically, you can only use the title button to skip to the next title, and the loop back to the beginning when the last title has finished playing (the last options.)
It's a pity. The DVD-Video standard is really stupid!Comment

Thank you, r0lZ, for your reply! PgcEdit is a fantastic program, btw.
I really have found it invaluable in terms of 'cleaning up' Shrink's 'reauthor' mode, which I use almost exclusively, in conjunction with DVD-RB Pro.
I'll try what you mentioned with the 'DVDShrink Remote Buttons' feature.
PS - the chapters appear as "--:--" on the screen, and there's no sign of a timecode anywhere.Last edited by Dashiell; 1 Aug 2006, 02:22 AM.Comment

I think some players are more picky than others in this respect Dashiell. But, so long as it plays, I guess.
