I have AVI files that I wish to string together to make a DVD that will play on my regular DVD player.
When using Win avi I find that one 65mb AVI movie turns into a 550mb DVD (VOB) file!! AND the quality of the DVD is actually a little poorer than the original AVI! Admittedly this is on highest quality, which I prefer.
This means that I can only get about 8 x 7-minute movies on one 4.5gb DVD. That can't be right, can it?
If I lower the quality to the lowest setting in Win avi, a 65mb AVI encodes to 140mb. This means that I could get around 32 x 7-minute movies on a DVD. That's okay but the quality is not good/pixellated.
Is it possible/is there any software available to encode AVI files to VOB (DVD format) while retaining the same quality as the AVI and around the same size in megabytes?
Would that my DVD could read AVI files!!
