Warning in VobBlanker Log

I ran it (The Black Hole) thru PgcEdit. Got it just how I wanted it. Then I processed it with VobBlanker (I know you told me I didn't need VobBlanker after PgcEdit, but I do it for the Strip function) and in the log there was a warning...

WARNING: nuPGCs higher than the value stored in VTS_TMAPTI 2

Think you could tell me what that means, and should I worry about it?

EDIT: UH OH, I just previewed it and after the preview ended and where the Main Menu is supposed to start, I got an "Unexpected DVD Error". I wasn't playing it from a DVD. I was previewing it with Nero Show Time right after I processed it with VobBlanker (you tried to warn me).

The time map table contains the number of time maps, which should correspond to the number of PGCs.

Best is to rebuild the time map table in PgcEdit. VobBlanker actually has a bug in this area.

I tried that, but it still wouldn't play. I think it might have had something to do with this...



In another movie I did the same thing. But when I got that warning I cancelled and went into PGC Editor and blanked the cells and when I was done, everything was gone (including the buttons) and the movie played fine, even after processing with VobBlanker.

Not sure if that was it or not because this was a different movie. I just re-ripped The Black Hole again and I'm going to see if it works this way.

I'll let you know what happens.

IIRC, if there are cells with buttons in the menu you are blanking, this warning will appear.

You need first to Kill Playback (Ctrl-K) on those cells that have buttons. Then you can blank with Ctrl-Del.

Hey!
That worked out pretty good, except sometimes I have to do it twice. The first time I [Ctrl-K] it comes up with this...



So I select a button that has a LinkTailPGC command. Click [OK] and it comes up with this...



But I try a second time and it works. Creates a dummy. So I don't have to do [Ctrl-Del].

But the movie still crashes. I must be getting rid of something it needs to play. It plays fine until I jump on it with PgcEdit.

I haven't had this prob with any other movies.

EDIT:
I don't know what that DVD (BLACK HOLE) had against my Players. It wouldn't play in Nero or Media Player. So I got tired of messing with it and went ahead and burned it.

It plays just fine on my set top, just the way I wanted it also.

One little thing that caught my eye. DVD Shrink analyzed it and I could see all the stuff I cut out.

Anyway, I'm just glad I'm finished with that DVD.

You could see what you cut out because you only killed playback. You need to Ctrl-Del to get rid of it (or just use Tools - FixVTS (current domain)).

I know this off topic. But since we kinda led it that way....

I told you I don't use DVD Shrink until I'm finished editing.

But after I'm thru editing, and it is small enough that it doesn't need shrinking, should I still let DVD Shrink back it up anyway? I thought I saw in the preferences where it might do a few finishing touches.

Oh, and you can't do a Ctrl+Del after Ctrl+K because Ctrl+K makes it a dummie.

I did find however that you can double click the PGC and remove the cell
even if it is a dummie.

Your thread - take it where you want to.

If it's small enough, burn it with ImgBurn. Simple.

You can always do a Ctrl-Del (which removes the menu/titles). Just make sure all PGCs with buttons have been suitably modified (via Ctrl-K).

I don't know why I didn't catch the part about using FixVTS.

Before, DVD Shrink showed unreferenced material, which is all the stuff I killed in PgcEdit.

I went back and used FixVTS, reloaded in DVD Shrink and the unreferenced material was gone. Saved me about 300 MB.

I need to pay attention to your input a little more.
