Problem Playing after finalising -RW

Hope this is the right place.....

I have just copied a VHS video to a -RW disk on my Toshiba DR3 recorder. I finalised the disk but it won't play on anything and my PC can't read it. The Tosh plays the disk fine......help? Message on PC says that "disk is corrupted or unreadable" and explorer shows no files...

Oh yes, I formatted it using the DVD-VR selction on the Tosh rather than the DVD-V whcih I think gives you more editing functions and is for DVD-RAM as well. Not sure if thats of any help or difference

It was the format. It needs to be what they call DVD-V not VR. All works OK now. Hope this is useful for anyone else though

Yes, the DVD format is known by a few acronymns. DVD-VF, DVD-V or DVD-Video (the traditional one).

But the "VR" format (using DVD-RAM) seems universally known as DVD-VR.
