I have occasionally failed to open DVD files in DVDShrink because it could not read a .BUP or a .IFO file. If these files are straight copies (the BUP a 1:1 copy of the IFO) as was stated in the FAQ guide to DVD files, then can I simply copy, paste, and rename the appropriate .IFO to create a new .BUP and vice versa? Would DVDShrink then read the files? (Unfortunately, I do not have an example archive with this problem at the moment. I'm just studying the art of DVD today.)
If that would work, and if I am clear about what a BUP is, then why don't the programs ignore errors to these files if there is an equivalent of the other type available?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Michael
