A old Unforgiven flip side disc to a one sided disc

I bought a cheap DVD with the movie Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood).
The disc is a flip disc, half of the movie is one side and you have to
take out the disc and flip it to see the last half.

My question is this.
Can I rip the disc and then edit so I can put it on a regular DVD disc.
If I can, how do I do that.

Yes you can.
If you want to combine both sides you can using DVD Shrink in Re-Author mode but you'll lose the menus.

Yes you can use Shrink but your player will see it as 2 separate movies. That means that half way through the movie, when it starts to play the second half, the counter on your player will go back to zero. To make it one complete movie, you could try this method.

If you have Nero 7 - you could also do that in the merge function of Nero Recode 2. The time counter will be right and the player will see it as "one movie".

Yes, but it's not working as good as in Nero 7.5. It will not create one single VTS from different VTS's. They will still remaine as different VTS's even if the playback should work without problems. The time counter will also shift to zero when a "new" VTS is played.

Long time since I used that approach. You need to create new ifo files - will that keep the original chapters?

Works perfectly and yes, it keeps chapters.

I still use it occasionally.
