Divx to mpg/vob or whatever it takes

I have some divx movies from way back when, and a more recient, Lord of the rings, new line screener. I was wondering how you convert these to be burned back to dvd-r drives. I got my dvd+rw drive last week and MYdvd sucks aweful, nero doesnt wanna do movies. With virtual dub, if i wanna convert it full frame its over 90 gigs. Any ideas? any program sujestions? thanks.

Well.... if you take your divx Lord of the Rings and open it with TMPGEnc (Freeware), choose dvd format when the wizard pops up. Mess around with the settings however you want... then start it encoding... Depending how fast a machine you have you should end up with a really big mpg 2 stream.... you then need dvd authoring software.. (ulead Moviefactory, or something else) open it up and when it asks for a mpeg stream browse to the file you made in tmpgenc and open it up. then make menus.. scenes whatever and have it create the video_ts and audio_ts folders.. now as far as burning dvds on a pc im not quite sure cause i do all my dvd burning on a g4 at work.... so if you have access to a mac dvd burner all you really need is roxio toast titanium.. choose other and then dvd format.. and say new dvd and then just drag and drop the two _ts folder into the ROOT of the dvd... otherwise any pc program that is capable of burning dvds should work as well.. just make sure you burn the video_ts and audio_ts folders at the ROOT of the dvd and you should be good to go.
