Changing Chapters

OK I got the muxing thing done.

However when I put the modified VOB over the original DVD that has menus, it used the chapter data off the IFOs (which is good as it has all the commands from the original DVD), the chapters were on different frames, making it not work right.

IfoEdit and PgcEdit both show this but won't let me edit them. Is there a way to while keeping multi-titles on the disc?

Try ChapterEdit. I think a link is in the stickies. Or search. As well, if you use a celltimes.txt file when muxing, proper chapter info is created for you.

For one, ChapterEdit last time I tried it made the disc stop playing for a second or two every time the chapter changed, in any player I tried it in.


And I did use CellTimes when muxing but I am using the IFO files from the original movie.

Although, tell me if this would work: I can keep all the ISOs from the original, except VTS_01_1, which is the movie title. AFAIK all the commands would then be the same except for title one, but the chapters would be good. (the chapters were fine when I used MuxMan.)

Yes, only work on that VTS and then copy paste the commands in in PgcEdit. I thought C/Edit was OK.

ChapterEdit may work for computer playback, but when I tried it on a project I made for my mom, it skipped to the point I thought it was a bad burn. And if I can't play it on my TV that defeats the purpose.

So VTS_01_1.IFO is only the commands for title 1 and won't affect the menus and special features?

Not if the command structure and menu structure is the same.

Menu structure for which, VIDEO_TS.IFO or VTS_01_1?

OK this is hard, there were like 12 dummy sectors and menus associated with title 1. Overwriting the IFO deletes all those making the disc most likely not play right.

Any other options? Can PgcEdit modify the cells/chapter list?

The VTS you are importing. No, PgcEdit can't do it. Just import the menu. The help file tells you how.

Well, you can use PgcEdit's Import VTST Titles. There is an option to keep the original structure, commands etc... but this option is only available when the number of cells in the imported title is exactly identical than in the original DVD.
To force PgcEdit to accept the option, you might try to remove the useless tiny cells from the original DVD, so that you have the same number of cells, programs and chapters than in the re-authored title. It should work.
Otherwise, you will have to copy/paste the VM commands and adapt the chapter menu manually, as blutach suggested.
