Converting a Title to 16:9

So if I blank titles 2 and 3, don't they go away? I want to keep titles 2 and 3, just make them fullscreen.



Maybe it's easier to re-encode adding black bars to the sides? How would I do that?

Blanking means removing, destroying, superssing...

To make the titles FS, right click the title, and select Domain Streams Attributes. Untick Automatic Letterbox and tick Automatic Pan&Scan. Save. That's all. No need to reencode.

You can also tick both checkboxes, and use your player's preferences menu to display them in the mode you prefer. IMO, it's a better solution, as you will be able to watch the same DVD in WS mode if you wish.

Note that you will modify the display mode of all titles of the same domain. And don't do that on a menu domain, or the highlight will be misplaced. Also, verify carefully the subtitles. They might be partially hidden beneath the border of the TV.

If this is the case, use DVDSubEdit to move them up.

Sorry you must have understood. I want title 1 to be widescreen, but 2 and 3 fullscreen, they are in the same PGC domain.

Copy the VTS. Use File --> Import VTST titles in PgcEdit. Navigate to the IFO of the VTS you wanna copy and when asked if you wanna move or copy VOBs, select Copy.

Then blank titles 2 and 3 in VTS 1 and what was equivalent to title 1 in VTS 2. Change the domaion stream attributes accordingly. Run FixVTS over Full DVD to clean up.

Change the links in VMGM from title 2 and 3 to the new title numbers in the new VTS. If the menu buttons however are Jump VTS_TT or Jump VTS_PTT, you'll need to re-author the menu buttons for titles 2 and 3 to go through VMG.

Do I do this with the entire DVD that has menus? Or just import the first title?

3. Blanking at the cell level using the preview
The third method is explained by blutach: Run trace mode (with preview), and tick the "Blank this cell" checkbox in the preview window. When the PGC has finished playing, if all cells are blanked, you will be prompted to kill playback. Accept.

I have previewed it several times and do not see a "blank this cell" box. Can you show me a screenshot of where it should be?

OK, I used method 1, the kill playback.

Now, how do I change menu commands? It's on JumpVTS_PTT now, I can't find one that lets me use another title.

--EDIT-- ah yes and I also can't get FixVTS to work, it needs a VOB file and the "full DVD" is blanked out.

OK wtf, I ran FixVTS, and the stuff I killed playback on is still there.

You have to accept the option to blank the cells or to remove them to convert the PGC to dummy.
Also, if a cell is reused somewhere else, it cannot be removed. Make sure you blank it in all PGCs.
And, of course, in FixVTS, you have to tick the Remove unref and blank cells option.
