    Don't Follow???

anonymer, the dvr-ms file is MS version of mpeg2 but I used dcut to remove comercials and dcut then compresses to a .wmv 9 file. Dcut also has the option to edit but not to compress the dvr-ms file. I have never used dvr-ms toolbox, do you know of a guide on how to use it? The wmv file is quite compressed when played back but I have seen worse. The audio sync is driving me crazy but since you say wmv is vbr that is likely the problem. It only is when the file is converted for burning to DVD the wmv file plays fine in media player.

How would I take the edited dvr-ms after removing comercials with dcut then I need to make a mpeg2 file then, author to DVD files so I end up with a VTS_ .vob files which I can then open with DVD shrink or DVD Rebuilder, creat a ISO to burn with ImgBurn.

    Any help would be appreciated.

i very rarely deal with dvr-ms, my captures are all mpeg ts.

Dcut also has the option to edit but not to compress the dvr-ms file
authoring applications usually require elementary streams or mpeg ps as input. dvr-ms toolbox can place the streams into mpeg ps, not sure about dcut.

      the steps involved, freeware method:

-edit, extract and mux to mpeg ps with dvr-ms toolbox
      -demux mpeg ps with projectX
      -author with ifoedit
      -burn with imgburn

Warning: do not use ifoedit to mux a NTSC DVD. Muxman (free or advanced version) is better.
