FixVTS Insatiable

I'm curious about FixVTS's appetite for VCID's. Just for kicks I ran FixVTS (current domain) several times on the same DVD and every time it found some VCID's to cast out.

Is there a reason for this behaviour?

Is it possible to run out of VCID's to be cast out?

Just something I've been wondering about for a while...

The main goal of FixVTS is to reorganize the VOB and Cell IDs in the VOB files sequentially, and remove the gaps in the IDs. When it's finished, it has to patch the IFOs to reflect the changes made in the VOBs. This is necessary for several programs, including DVD Shrink, as those programs don't like the gaps in the IDs.

Furthermore, FixVTS can also remove the cells that are not referenced in the IFOs, and shift the subsequent V/CIDs accordingly. This is why it is useful to remove the cells that you have blanked or deleted in the IFOs with PgcEdit.

FixVTS searches and fixes also several frequent problems such as wrong pointers in the IFOs.

It is totally useless to run FixVTS with the same parameters several times on the same domain or DVD, as it has nothing to fix anymore.

It is totally useless to run FixVTS with the same parameters several times on the same domain or DVD, as it has nothing to fix anymore.

I figured this much. That's why I ran FixVTS several times (sort of an experiment). And every time it finds stuff to get rid of.

They are not there anymore. Not sure what they were...

They were removed Smileys which due to the host's anti-leeching simply appeared as an icon for the host. Not to worry.
