I'm trying to find software to put a protection on DVD video material such like Sony ARccOS. If someone know any URL or name of the software that can put protection on DVD video materials please help here.

P.S. I know that there is no 100% protections and that every protection can be hacked. But I'm asking here if someone know the name or maybe where to download program/s that can put Sonys ARccOS protection on DVD video materials.

@kovac: If you really need it, you can pay $ony or Macrovi$ion to buy their protection. I guess it's not cheap (although useless)!

Well, there are a few very good copy protections for the do-it-yourself label.

1) Take a nailpistol and shoot a few wholes in your disc. Shooting the Sony logo will scare the average John to death. He probably won't even try to copy it.

2) Scratching your name in the disc will give it a little artistic touch.
Doing this on the reflection side has the advantage that your label will stay intact.

3) Take your disc to a self-made 'digital' photographer and let him copy it. No DVD reader will play this product.

4) If nothing else helps, burn a Steven Seagal movie on your disc. Maybe a few psychotics will manage to watch the entire movie, but NOBODY will try to copy it.

Everything that we use to remove the CP, just run that in reverse.

Ok thank you all for fast replys. I'm NOT looking for solution for permanent DVD video copy protection.I'm using Adobe Encore 1.5 and Sony Arhitect 4.0 and I'm familiar with some protections. Why I'm seeking for ARccOS protection = because it can not be ripped with Shrink directly without using other softwares like ripit4me or dvd decrypter or something else, actualy I'm recordin all kind of wedings,birthdays,celebrations... Problem is in that that every one who trying to ripp DVD use Shrink (in my neighborhood). I'm allready using Macrovision,CSS but I want to protect it little bit more with ARccOS.

All your neighbours use DVD Shrink. When one, only one, is able to circumvent the more sofisticated protection system (supposed you manage to put one on the disc), he'll copy the disc and distribute it to the rest.
So, I would say, give it up.

To get your files to a disc, your pc needs to copy them to the disc. If you could put something in one of the files to prevent copying, your pc will not be able to copy it to the disc.

@Kovac - SONY protection relies on bad sectors, and corrupt IFOs. I've seen some real doozies, but sadly for you and happily for everyone else, RipIt4Me can eat them all up in an instant.

One thing you can try (SONY does this too) is mastering about 4 copies of the real video onto the DL disk. 3 of them are fake and unreferenced. DVD Shrink users would see this as unreferenced material and still images it - but the quality of the remaining real movie would be awful. Of course, RipIt4Me just deletes it to begin with.

Or add a whole lotta unreferenced crap in VIDEO_TS.VOB (an ad for your company going round and round for about an hour to take up the whole 1Gb allocated to it). Same theory as previous paragraph - sadly for you, same outcome with RipIt4Me.

Hum, I don't understand why it is necessary to protect the kind of DVD you produces. Who is interested in watching the wedding of somebody else?
Furthermore, as we know, the owner must be able to copy his own DVD, especially in this case, as the masterpiece is unique!

I agree - I have heard awful tales of woe of wedding videos given to customers on shoddy media/badly authored etc. They should have the right to make a backup of their own wedding - if only as a last resort to watch it to see how happy they used to be before they split up

Exactly. I'm not even interested in my own wedding. Mine was taped on VHS. You know, such a two-tons Sony on that guy's shoulder. But it was worth it, I thougt... First time I plugged it in, I couldn't believe where I got that ridiculous haircut from. My costume looked like a shot from a Laurel & Hardy movie. I didn't want anybody to see this. Luckily, there was a great Michael Schenker concert on WDR3 that night, so that VHS wasn't wasted after all. Of course, a few days later when my wife had invited her friends and the tape opened with the great solo in 'Armed And Ready', my run ended in the neighbour's garden. But she got over it, it only took two weeks before we spoke our first words again.

So, Kovac, do your neighbours a favor, copy your wedding parties on a
DVD-RW. The latest Madonna tour will be broadcasted in a few weeks.
