PgcEdit Import titles

I have 3 DVD file sets, 1 for each episode of a DVD I am making, each one is just over 1GB so there will be no compression. Blu mentioned that I could take all 3 episodes and use import titles to make 1 video contaner with PgcEdit. So I open the 1 episode by file>openDVD, then file>import VTS titles I then get a message saying there are VTS2 IFO VOB files in the folder, if I continue they will be deleted. copy VOB, Move VOB, or don't import VOB. What shall I do, after this I still have 1 more DVD file set to import. There are no menues with any of the 3 DVD file sets. What do I do after I get the 3 episode (title) imported regarding saving so can burn with ImgBurn? I have been looking for a guide with import titles but don't see one.

First start your new DVD is a new folder! This will ensure there is no overwriting of important IFO files.

Then after you have established a new DVD (which is really just a Video Manager), you can do the import titles.

Place the cursor directly under the VMG, First play entry. From the menu:

File → Import VTST Titles. Browse to the folder with episode 1 and select the IFO with the episode in it.

If you want to keep the original projects in their original folder (as a backup perhaps), select Copy VOBs (this takes longer). Otherwise, select Move VOBs (this is very quick).

Then position the cursor underneath the newly imported VTS and continue on with importing the IFOs for episodes 2 and 3. Save and author your DVD with the Command Editor.

After this, you can consider using Titlewriter to create a generic set of menus.

Though I haven't done importing Title for a long time, it almost sounds like you are doing DVD Shrink's reauthoring mode. All DVD Shrink needs is the associated IFO for the VOBs, which you have, so to drag them (Titles) into your compilation list.

yes the shrink reauthor method is what I have used in the past and when I do need to compress I send to a folder with no compression then run through DVD-RB and let it compress with filters if needed.

PgcEdit seems like a pgm I would like to know, but it does seem to have a learning curve (expected). Blu mentioned it would be a way to combine all 3 titles but if no compression is needed there is no advantage to DVD-RB vs Shrink and Shrink takes 4 minutes to encode since it is less than 4GB's. just wanted a reason to use PgcEdit to try out.

PgcEdit won't do a better job than Shrink in this case. Even worse, with PgcEdit, you have to build the navigation from scratch. It's not easy, and time consuming.

However, with PgcEdit, you can import a title to an existing DVD, without losing the menus of the original DVD. It's impossible with Shrink in re-author mode.
There are 4 functions to do that. The 3 Import Title functions that are under the Title menu of PgcEdit are fully automatic. You don't have to edit the nav commands manually to call the new title. But those functions are not suitable in all cases. For example, you can only import a VTS with only one title. If you want more power, you can use File -> Import VTST titles, but it's a lot more difficult to do, as nothing is automatic here.

Note also that you can replace totally the titles in a VTS with File -> Replace VTST Titles. This can be used to replace, for example, a FBI warning by a short title or logo.
