Gonwk I suggest waiting until a release -- this translation bit is a work in progress.

Jinjin_jp you scared me for a second -- I thought TW was lopping off the first characters

I am not basing my code on any single program -- I started from scratch.

    Tetsuro_ja -- ABC vs BCA
I thought I was being "smart" parsing by word (DUMB MONKEY)
(Also reducing translated strings since many words repeat within different strings)
Damn this means a step back -- For sanity's sake I'll have to add all possible language extended info as strings (and delete the entries for words in strings)
    from the files.
If it is hard to display the whole info, it may be better that strings are translated to abbreviated strings. For example, "for visual impaired" to "I", "director comment" to "D", "alt director comment" to "A".
Not sure abbreviating to that point is smart (most users won't know what the abbreviations mean)
So Alternate Directors Comments to Alt Dir Com "sings" better than A

I'll Update the english, japanese files to code original strings (entries left of Comma)
(This will butcher your translations in those areas to date)

Send the modified japanese file back to you >> And wait for the corrected file before releasing another testbed.

.bmp is used when BMP files are used instead of text -- tw looks for the translated files in menufiles folder ie "PlayAll.bmp" is not recognized when japanese.txt is selected
(you would have to create a Japanese "translated(PlayAll).translated(.BMP)
I confirmed about it. But the fact seems to be different.
Even when japanese.txt is selected, I can use japanse bitmap.
        I don't have to create a Japanese "translated(PlayAll).translated(.BMP).
Further more, even when deleted(blank) "Bmp,.BMP" in txt, I can use bitmap button without problem.
(I'm not sure but I remember several previous testbed need to rename file name of bitmap.)

        Regards.

(I'm not sure but I remember several previous testbed need to rename file name of bitmap.)
          I confirmed.
TestBed6_16_2 needs japanese file's name of bitmap, when using Japanese MenuStrings.txt.
But current TW is no need. It must be English file's name of bitmap. If Japanese name, it uses text instead of bitmap automatically.

          Regards.

JinJin_jp when japanese.txt is selected If it can't find japanese bmps for resource -- text is automatically selected

Are you saying that when a "japanese "Play" bitmap is present TW is not seeing it when Use Text is unchecked

Edit -- Never mind above -- Yes you are right -- it was looking for the english buttons -- Fixed

I think current feature is enough and I like.
It can select the folder which involves favorite button bitmap by preparing various image.

Well I can go one way (translating resources files) or the other way leaving "english" text names for the files

But not both. The code change is trivial either way

                (It currently translating here)

                  Uploaded 6_23
                  With Tetsuro_ja current translations
                  Supports Audio Extended Info
Added File Save As to Language file editor
And above wrinkles since last testbed

In the above -- I deleted "Unknown" in English.txt but left it in Japanese.txt

I'll listen to feedback as to which "sings" better

In the above -- I deleted "Unknown" in English.txt but left it in Japanese.txt
I think about like this by below figure of the results.
                    (1)Audio
(1-1)Language: "unspecified" and "(blank)" had better to be shown commonly.
(1-2)Extention: unspecified is shown as "(blank)" is ok.

                    (2)Subpicture
(2-1)Language: "unspecified" and "(blank)" had better to be shown commonly.
(2-2)Extention: unspecified is shown as "(blank)" is ok.
(2-3)But at least one unspecified of Language or Extention had better to be shown, because there is the case that is all blank like 2nd line. I think better to be common with audio.
(2-4)Language type: It should not be reflected because confused with Language.

                    Regards.

Okay -- The general upshot is Leave unknown in I guess

I'm gathering the rest is fairly solid -- Time to deal with the text compression on that menu -- I'm not happy with the "different" sizes showing up from line to line.
It will mean 2 passes through the strings to find the biggest though. And a new routine to create as a bitmap resource "on the fly"

                        Thanks, FA.

                        I tried TestBed6_23.
I think extended info of audio/subtitle buttons is almost good.
I can't use BMP buttons at all in 6_23.
                        Can you use BMP buttons?

                              Thanks for Uploaded 6_23_3.
If possible, I hope to be fixed (2-4) of post #264 in future.
(because we can change "(1-1) to (2-3)" to favorable thing by editing Menulanguage txt, but we can't anything about (2-4).)

                              @tetsuro_ja
Thanks for Japanese menulanguage and bitmap.
The meaning of Japanese "Large Directors Comments" seems to be English "Great Director's Comment".
(It can be edited by my self. Sorry to tiny thing.)

                                Hi, jinjin.

                                As to (2-4) of post #264 --
There is no problem at least in DVD compilations authored by DVDAuthorGUI and Muxman std(free).
DVD compilations authored by DVDAuthorGUI without setting of language code:
Language Type = 0 (not specified)
                                Language Code = 0,0 (NotSpecified_1)
DVD compilations authored by Muxman std. without setting of language code:
                                Language Type = 1 (present)
                                Language Code = 0,0 (NotSpecified_1)

Even if language code, e.g, "en" is cleared by PgcEdit, Nero ShowTime still recognizes the language as English.

As to "Large Director's Comment" --
I will consider the point that you described. Thanks.

                                Regards
