I need some help please. Im trying to create menus for a DVD (2 AVI files) i have made using DVDflick, in DVD flick for some reason the menu settings dont work for me and says "failed to create subpictures" .can titlewriter sort this issue out ? i tried using titlewrite to create menus of the 2 films but i get failure all the time ? it says :
- error in parsing XML
- thread slow or paused - displaying sub thread
- on menu create - error undefined"
Okay at a guess your source isn't compliant or the ifo's are screwed up
I assume you've converted the Avis to DVD Format
First try this
Open your compiliation in TW
Click Menu<>Text Button until you see the Menu Mode screen pop up
Click Menu>>Remove All Menus
Then try MakeMenu
if that fails
Try opening the result in DvdShrink>>ReAuthor mode
Find/Drag both titles left pane and hit backup
Use TW -- and open the backup
TW will always work with DvdShrink output
If DvdShrink won't open the files You need to reconvert the avis to dvd format
Thanks much. that is true...I have converted the AVIs (2 AVIs, size approx. 720MB each) to DVD format. I have used DVDflick to convert 2 AVIs into a DVD format but for some reason, unable to create main menu even in DVDflick. I am positive the DVDshrink opens them.
If thought if open the dvd folder in DVDshrink, and re-author, than backup, it will ONLY allow me to save the output as image (.ISO) not video_ts & audio_ts..how will that work ?
I shall try what you have mentioned and keep you updated. cheers

I did what ur 2nd option was..(below) :
if that fails
Try opening the result in DvdShrink>>ReAuthor mode
Find/Drag both titles left pane and hit backup
Use TW -- and open the backup
TW will always work with DvdShrink output............. "
But no luck at all...it gives the same errors. i opened the folder i had in dvdshrink, did re-author onto the hard disk and that output folder i used in TW, but no luck. gives same errors. I feel so devasted that im not able to create just menus for my videos, DVDflick shows error, TW shows error, so something has to be wrong somwhere..by the way, is TW to be used in conjunction with another program ?...i thought that might be the error, coz i am not using any program with TW....thks lots

That is really strange --TW always (so far) has eaten DvdShrink reauthored output without complaint.
Are you running on less then windows 2000 -- If so that could definitly be the prob. TW MakeMenu hates windows 98
Or One more thing you could try -- In DvdShrink set the Preference size Below the size of both titles added together.
This will force DVDShrink to tweak the .vob content.
Other than that you might try another avi to dvd converter
Yes -- Tw (MakeMenu) uses DVDAuthor subprograms and pgceditpreview for display purposes --All are contained in the download package
fairenough
A question -- When you first open Make Menu Dou you see a Picture?
Just Thunk up something that might work if your OS is win2000 or better
Open the DVDShrunk file in TW
TW>>MakeMenu
Click Movie 1
Now the ... button on right of "Thumbnail Image"
(and select any bmp or jpg you have on your machine)
Click Movie 2 (Rpt last step)
Optional --- As A test click Chapter thumbnail editor -- Browse the thumbnails -- see if TW crashes when trying to display them (Or pauses right there) Exit Thumbnail editor
Now select None (Vts Movie Menu Options Group) (it probably says Chapter and Setup)
Then Apply to all Movies (in that group)
Click Make Menu and Add it
This will bypass TW trying to pull content from the compiliation as Menu thumbnails And will not create Main,Chapter or Setup menus
If this works then something in the source vobs is trash

Im not sure what do you mean by that but the folder im using to add compiled files to TW is the folder that contains both AUDIO_TS AND VIDEO_TS folders....im NOT using only the video_ts folder to add compiled files to TW.
