    FA,

I just tried beta 4.6 with my Sony CX995 and and I see no second line data. Kind of an odd DVD though - so I'll report back if it DOES work - otherwise it doesn't.

Edit #1: Just tried with another DVD. Still no second line: The options for text on this DVD are:

    Volume: Name: xxxxxxxxxxx
    Title: Name xxxxxxxxx
    Chapter: Name: xxxxxxxx

    etc.etc.etc.........

I put data in all of those and nothing showed up on the 995.

I see no MOVIE line - if I was supposed to add it to the DVD text - well, I just don't know how. :<(

Edit #2: OK so I added MOVIE as follows:

    Volume:Name: xxxxxxx (same as always)
Title: MOVIE: xxxxxxxx (formerly Title: NAME)

    Still nothing for second line.

Thanks again for all the hard work FA. It's a lifesaver!

    GLT

      Close glt

These are the entries for the Prior Sony jukes (Note: Prior models did support second line --and yes I'm not at all sure the 995 still does)

      Code:
      VOLUME:
            NAME: My DVD
            MOVIE: Second line...
      TITLE:
            NAME: Movie Name
         CHAPTER:
            NAME:Chapter 1
      .
      .
      .
Settings>>Change Settings has a checkbox to autocreate dummies entries for either the Sony or the Pioneer jukes (Only when dvdtext isn't present -- Not found or unsaved -- UNDO will also)

Heres the thing of it -- the Code MOVIE might be wrong for the 995
      (It could be ACTOR,ACTRESS, ...)

I have no way to test

But it has always seemed odd to me that the 995 no longer fills in the second line (and prior models did) -- that would require redesign (Sony's not bright but why bother to lose functionallity)

To Test On my Pioneer jukebox "To find the right code" I created a dvd with the following --burned -- then checked my Player menu and info to see what showed up and watched the Led also during playback (to see what scrolled across)

      Code:
      VOLUME:
            NAME: My DVD
            MOVIE: Movie
            ACTOR:Actor
            OTHER: Other
            ACTRESS:Actress
            ARTIST:Artist
            COMMENTS:Comments
            SERIES:Series
            NAME: Name 2
      TITLE:
            NAME: Title Name
            MOVIE: TMovie
            ACTOR:TActor
            OTHER: TOther
            ACTRESS:TActress
            ARTIST:TArtist
            COMMENTS:TComments
            SERIES:TSeries
            NAME: TName 2
      etc.
      Click On
      Code:
           VOLUME:
           TITLE:
lines to create new dummy entries in each class then use the selector (left of the editing line)to pick the subclass (for the Highlighted entry)

Aargh -- I think I need to add a function to copy the DVD_TEXT editor contents to Clipboard

        FA,

OK - I get it. Will try auto create the movie line first, if it doesn't work - will try the second method.

Just having the title works fine for my purposes -very happy with that, but glad to test such a useful proggie.

        BTW, it's a Sony DVP-CX995V.

        Be back in a while...

        Thanks,

        GLT

Yes I meant the 995 -- I think it was the 885 that TW will enter the second line info using the code MOVIE

            Preliminary -

Chose the Sony autocreate option ...

It created a line like this:

            VOLUME:
            NAME: xxxxxx
            MOVIE: xxxxxx

            TITLE:
            NAME: Title 1
            CHAPTER:
            NAME: Chapter1

(i.e. no MOVIE line in the TITLE section)

Don't see any second line data - off to try method 2....

            GLT

.....now writing all fields in volume and title.....

              FA-

When I go into MANUAL edit mode for the disc it gives me ARTIST and GENRE...

These aren't on the list of options....

              So....

              Glt

Oh wait - artist was there - well see in a few minutes...

Glt -- Don't go by what the changer says for the codes
On my pioneer the second line is artist -- I have to use code ACTOR to get it to fill in.
If you put in entries for all the codes Under VOLUME (as I showed above -- with the text matching the code in second code box) and the line fills in you know which code the machine wants.

FA- did what you said for both volume and title - now waiting for the slowest write of a disc EVER....(a watched pot)...

                  fingers crossed....

Bear with me for a moment on the 995 -- you said Genre -- does that pull open another menu with a limited set of options/selections or allow you to enter text

                      Oh...durn..

Don't see anything... and I used every field from name to other...

Genre is a selection - not text....

Any other ideas? You may just need someone smarter here :<(

Would a period hurt something? Exp. ARTIST: This is the artist. (<==period)

Thanx glt -- It was a good try
Well -- sounds like they lost the second line support for the 995 --Typical Sony

Genre -- It is in the dvd specs as a code number only (No text)
If you would (post the available Genre choices -- I may look and see if they match up with the dvd specs) perhaps play with it in TW

Difficult though since I can't see the direct result of what I am doing

                            Thanx Glt
                            Hmm the lists almost match
                            In yours Action/Adventure are combined
In the DVD_Specs they are seperate codes

Well WTH I'll try coding it (Probably nothing will come of it -- But if you don't try???)

                              Great - will check back...

Was thinking - maybe they have to be in order - i.e. disc name and the NEXT entry must be Artist (or Actor) in order to read it. Will play with that on future discs - but not now...

I tryed to buy and confirm karaoke-DVD, but it didn't have DVD-TEXT.
And search for the karaoke-DVD-player, but is not put on the shop. It seems not to be current trend. It is regrettable.

By the way, TW seems to have the function IMPORT and EXPORT.

How to use it? Is there any guide about it? I expect to edit by text editor and import.

                                Regards.
