    VOB to Mpeg2 and Deinterlace

    Hey guys,

I know already that if you rip a DVD you get VOB files which technically are mpeg2 files. However, I'm want to work with these files in adobe premiere which doesn't recognize VOB. Is there a way to change the file to an .mpeg file without recoding it and losing quality?

Also, what suggestions to do you have a simple deinterlacing program?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Use PgcDemux to demux a title. You'll end up with an m2v and an ac3 (or other audio format) stream. According to this list, Adobe Premiere can handle m2v. VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod can be used to deïnterlace (look in the filters).

It's already an MPEG2 Program Stream. Try changing the extension to .mpg, maybe Premiere will accept it then.

For simplicity/speed, use Premiere. For quality, Avisynth with TDeint or MCBob.
