need help with syncing audio when converting to DVD

hey,

i'm very new to this and i've got a problem when i convert my avi file to dvd. (i've used a number of tools including DVDflick and avi2DVD) every time all works well except the fact that the audio is a bit behind the video (about 4 secs). can anyone tell me how i could sync it?

Try FAVC.
In the last tab of its settings window, enable the "Use DirectShowSource" option.

FAVC uses Avisynth to process the file.
Avisynth can open the AVI file with two methods: AviSource and DirectshowSource.
The first method is normally preferable, as it offers more control on the process, but in case of sync problems, the second method works usually better.
DirectshowSource is the internal Windows method to open the file via the codecs, used by Windows Media Player and most players. So, if you can watch the AVI with WMP without sync problem, the DirectshowSource method should work. However, note that I've said "Try FAVC." In some cases, the AVI is so badly encoded that the synchronization cannot be good.

ok, i gave up on it. ill just burn the avi and wait for my dad to get a divx compatible dvd player. and look to see if i can find a different avi. thanks anyway.
