two movies on one disc

i`m backing up my godfather dvd set (before they get ruined), but my version of godfather II is on 2 discs for some reason (not special features - just the movie).
can i put the complete movie onto one dvd (as long as i can get it to fit) ?
i think it is possible but i dont know how.
any help will be much appreciated.

There are quite a few methods. DVDRemake Pro and DVD2One are two of the easier programmes to do the job.

As well, if you don't care about menus, you can use Ner0 Recode, which has a merge function.

Or use the method in "Join a flipper" in my signature.

maybe i should add :
i would like the movie to continue from the end of pt1 to beginning of pt2 without any breaks - is this possible ?
also for the complete menu (scene selections from pts 1 & 2) to be at the beginning of the dvd.

We don't need any rah-rah's banksy. We'll help you.

Seamless playback is possible with the merge feature of Recode or using the Join a Flipper method.

Merging the menus is more difficult. You will need to import the menu for disk 2 to the project (after merging the titles) and then author some VM commands. This is non-trivial.

However, if you can live with a non-seamless break (like a layer break in a dual layer DVD), zacoz has worked this out for you! If you follow his method carefully, you can do it. See this post.

what`s a "rah-rah" ?

just looked @ "join a flipper" - mmmm.... looks quite complex for a novice like myself !!!
is this the "easiest" way ? - it would be nice to have "scene selections" for the full movie but not the end of the world if i can`t.
the main thing is to get the full movie feature without any breaks.

You can use PgcEdit. Just open disc 1 in PgcEdit, than insert the VTS that holds you second movie. You can start movie 2 right after movie 1 ended, or you can call the menu of disc 2 (then also insert this menu) at that point. That's your choice.
