    Making a Insert DVD2 when there are no menus?

    I have a folder with the DVD files in it that doesn't have any menus at all. I want to add a "Insert DVD 2" still menu at the end of DVD 1. I looked at DVD Remake and since I don't have any menus at all to start with I don't see how I can do it. I also tried titlewriter but can't seem make it work, same with PGCEdit since it is looking for a IFO. I have the jpeg sized to 720x480 that I want to insert with the text on it but how do I get it into the DVD files since I have no menus to begin with? My DVD is split with DVD1 has cells/chapters 1-18, DVD2 has cells/chapters 19-36. I looked at 2cools guide for DVDRemake but it is quite old and can't seem to make it work with the new version of the pgm.

    Thanks in advance

    You don't need menus - just add the clip (see "Cool Insert Clips" link in my signature for some decent clips).

    PgcEdit has a function to add a closing clip to the title. Title → Import Title's Closing Clip.

      After having imported the clip as blu suggested, you can easily convert it to a simple menu by adding a transparent button (or, more precisely, a BOV) covering the whole image. Leave the default "LinkTailPGC" command. When you will activate that button, the clip will stop immediately, and the navigation will continue normally.
      The only drawback of this method is that your button has no highlight. Not very important when there is only one button in the menu.

        thanks guys but what if I want to add my own jpeg that is 720x480 that I put text on it saying "Insert DVD 2". I would rather do that than a generic clip.

          You can generate a single frame VOB with muxman and a BMP.

            Can't make it work. I made my own closing clip with VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS and uses blus method of importing the closing clip for DVD 1. I have chapters 1-18 on DVD1 and DVD2 has chapters 18-36, I did this with Vobblanker. When I save and play the changed video with MP classic the final VTS that has the image in it saying insert DVD2 doesn't play the video just ends and doesn't go to the added clip. Here is the PGC info fro PGC Edit. rOlZ does can you see where I went wrong? I made the .jpeg and sized to 720x480 then used DVDAuthorGUI to author the files with a .m2v and.ac3 but then took that set of files and opend with Vobblanker to get rid of the video and only have the menu so when I open the folder VIDEO_TS.IFO with MP classice the only thing that is shown is the still picture. I have enclosed .txt files fi it will help. Thank you rOlZ

              got it to work but there is about a 15 sec. delay till the VTS 2 that has the pic/VOB to display. It is going through all the single frames from 19 up to 36 of the chapters. How would I remove the 15 sec. black screen as it is playing the blanked chapters so the screen goes black then quickly goes to VTS 2 with the menu?

                This question has already been answered several times. I don't remember if it's here or at Doom9. Use Search, please...

                  @r0lZ

                  Thanks, I looked at doom9 and that is where i saw the guide telling how to remove the blanks for DVD2 at the start. It tells how to mak it jump directly to a cell or chapter. My problem is making it jump to a closing clip VTS rather than a chapter like the guides talk about. They are just eliminating the blanked cells. I tried that but it doesn't advance to the closing VTS for DVD1.

                  EDIT: Got it to work by deleting the cells that were blanked and PgcEdit reworked it all. seems to work now OK.

                    Great, but don't forget to hide the buttons of the chapter menu leading to the deleted chapters, or your DVD may crash.

                      @r0lZ,

                      There is no menu with buttons. It is a capture that is movie only with the added VTS which I did by Title → Import Title's Closing Clip that I made with muxman a single frame .bmp. I looked at the guide that shows how to get rid of the blanked chapters leading to the start of video for DVD2, I did like it showed. However, why can't you just use the feature to remove cell range from the VTS by double clicking on the VTS and let PgcEdit remwork the DVD. I was just playing and tried it and it worked, did it work because there was no menu that would of had buttons refrencing the removed cells. Nice program.

                      Thanks, to you and blu.

                        Indeed, removing the cells is the best solution when there are no JumpVTS_PTT commands to them. (BTW, I would leave one of those blanked cells at the end of the title, just to be able to use the remote to skip to the end of the title with the next chapter button.)
